The 2010 China International Auto Parts Expo is to be held in China International Exhibition Center in Beijing during Sep.25, 2010 and Sep.27, 2010. On this occasion, Taizhou Municipal Government and Zhejiang Commerce Department will jointly hold 2010 Taizhou Auto Industry Contact Meeting in Radisson SAS Hotel Beijing at 4:30 p.m. on Sep. 25th. Representatives from more than 100 entire vehicle & auto parts enterprises of Taizhou will attend the meeting, they’re looking forward to conduct exchanges and discussions with international automobile enterprises and clients in such subjects as advanced technologies, investment, foreign trade, etc. During this meeting, Taizhou’s investment environment, auto industry development and relevant policies will be introduced.
Taizhou, located on the south side of Shanghai Economic Zone, is one of China’s first batch of “National Automobile & Auto Parts Export Bases”. Geely Group—China’s first private vehicle company was founded here, and now some auto parts enterprises such as Japan’s Aisin Seiki, the United States’ Johnson Controls and France’s Valeo all have investment projects here.

A Survey of Taizhou
Taizhou is the birthplace of China's private economy. Taizhou is also an ancient and young coastal city lies at the southernmost wing of Shanghai Economic Zone. It has been successively awarded as one of the China Best Business Cities, China Financial & Ecologic Cities, China Brand Economic Cities and China Excellent Innovation Cities.
Taizhou has a land area of nearly 10,000 km2, a sea area of 80,000 km2 and a population of 5.78 million. In 2009, the city’s GDP reached about 29.8 billion USD.
Taizhou enjoys complete infrastructure. Taizhou Airport has opened domestic airlines to key cities including Bejing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou; the expressways and Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Railway have been linked to large surrounding cities including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Wenzhou, with routes connected to all parst of the country; Taizhou Port is a national first-grade port and matching & supporting port to Shanghai Yangshan Port and Ningbo Beilun Port, Direct flights to Japan and Southeast Asia. Taizhou Damaiyu Port is one of the first direct flights ports to Taiwan. In addition, Taizhou is an important energy base of power, thermal power, nuclear power, hydropower, wind power and tidal power are complete.
Taizhou is an important manufacturing base of China, with 100,000 manufacturing enterprises. Today’s Taizhou has 10 pillar industries including automobile, motorcycle & parts, medical chemistry, plastic mold, industrial sewing machines, home appliance, ship maintaining & building, etc.. Taizhou is one of China’s first batch of “National Automobile & Auto Parts Export Bases”, China’s exclusive manufacturing & export base for medical chemical raw materials, “Hometown of China’s Plastic Molds” and “City of China’s Valves & Water Pumps”.
In 2009, Taizhou’s automobile & auto parts enterprises gain an annual production value of 11 billion USD, of which exports reached 0.69 billion USD.
Taizhou’s entire vehicle manufacture mainly depends on economical cars and is supported by SUV, Pickup, and agricultural vehicles, and plus a small number of refit vehicles. Geely Group is the first civilian-run enterprise in China to manufacture cars; Gonow Auto Manufacture Co., Ltd is a major manufacturing & export base of China’s Pickup and special-purpose vehicles. Boosn Group Co., Ltd has outstanding sales of agricultural vehicles that rank the first in China. The city’s automobile & auto parts industry has complete categories. Products manufactured in Taizhou, such as radiator, transmission, brake hose, gear, bearing, shock absorber and steering wheel, all enjoy good reputation and influence in markets at home and abroad. Matching relations have been established between them and automobile factories including FAW, DFAC and Shanghai Auto, and some of the products have entered the matching system of large auto manufacturing factories in the United States, Germany and Japan.
Taizhou is also an open city. Japan’s Aisin Seiki, the United States’ Johnson Controls and France’s Valeo and other internationally well-known auto companies all have investments in Taizhou. In 2009, the city's total imports and exports amounted to 12.03 billion U.S. dollars, of which exports reached 10.1 billion U.S. dollars. Taizhou’s automobile, motorcycle & parts, plastic mold, medical chemistry, home appliance, sewing machines, valve pumps, artistic gifts, shoes and apparel and some other industries and products have obvious comparative advantage in international markets.
