On the occasion of the opening ceremony of China International Auto Parts Expo 2008, on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce of China, I'd like to extend my warm congratulations! Here I'd like to express my gratitude to 32 auto industry associations from 10 countries and regions including China, Germany, the US, UK, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea and Spain. The world leading automobile groups including Volkswagen and Toyota. The 4 leading auto parts companies including Bosch, Denso, Delphi as well as the 20 automotive groups including FAW, Dongfeng. We would also like to express our welcome to 1100 domestic and foreign participants and trade visitors all over the world.

CIAPE is the exclusively leading national level auto parts exhibition approved by the Chinese government. It is hosted by China General Technology Group, and supported by well-known automobile associations both in China and abroad as well as the automobile groups and auto parts groups. It is oriented to the global OE market and aftermarket and is a comprehensive platform for the exhibition, trade, communication, cooperation and intelligence introduction.

CIAPE is an important measure to enhance international communication and cooperation as well as to boost the international competence of automotive industry. It is also an important measure taken by the Ministry of Commerce as an innovation of exhibition. Last year CIAPE 2007 was successfully held in Beijing, raised wide concern and received high appraise from the automotive industry and the exhibition industry. Compared with CIAPE 2007, CIAPE 2008 has upgraded with increased size, longer exhibition time and higher level participants as well as the pragmatic forums. CIAPE 2008 gains more support from the world famous industry association including AAIA, MEMA, APMA etc.

Automotive industry is one of the industries of strongest industry connections and globalization. As an auto parts platform, CIAPE will surely deepen the international divisions, optimize the auto supply chains and play a positive role in the development of the world automotive industry. The Chinese government will continue to support both the Chinese and foreign companies to strengthen exchange and cooperation by means of this platform. I am deeply convinced that with the joint efforts of the industry, CIAPE will surely be a world renowned trade exhibition founded on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win, which is welcomed by the auto suppliers, purchasers and insiders. It will make important contribution to the cooperation of the world automotive industry.
